I recently read that Mark Cuban, owner of the Dallas Mavericks, made a comment to on opposing players mother. Cuban either called Denver Nugget Kenyon Martin a “thug” or a “punk” to Kenyon’s mother’s face or he agreed with comments made my other Maverick fans. And as fans were calling Martin a “thug”, Mark said “that includes your son!” OH HELL NO!!!!
Let’s start from the beginning. First off, Cuban has been a pompous ass since he came into the league.No owner has been fined as much or as often than he has. And he has literally ran out on the court to “protect” his players. WFT???? That’s like having your mama come up to the school after you have just gotten beaten up! But I digress. He has spent oodles of money making the Mavs locker room a place you never want to leave. And spent just as much money on players to try and “buy a championship.” It hasn’t happened.
The last two seasons, his teams have gotten EMBARRASSED in the playoffs with most fingers pointing AT him for his “hands on” mentality. He has placed his hopes and dreams on a guy, Dirk Notwizki, who is like another Dallas athlete, Cowboys Tony Romo, a STAT STUFFER! Great for fantasy football but you aren’t going to hoist a trophy with either guy being your “number one.” His team has been labeled “soft” with no “heart.” The players staged a MUTINY, and threatened to walk, unless then Coach Avery Johnson, was fired. He has made silly trades, Jason Kidd for Devin Harris?, and wonders why he is no closer to winning a title. Every loss reflects badly on HIM personally. So frustration is setting in.
If you have been following this blog, you know that I have both played sports, umpired sporting events, and am a sports junkie. So I pretty much have been on all sides of the main participants of a sporting event. And I am well aware of people trying to “get in your head” to try and take you out of their game. And I personally found it enjoyable to talk trash to opposing players. I can recall being hit with a tennis ball while dribbling up the court during a basketball game that only served to motivate me. And I have been called some pretty vile names, including the “N” word. But talking about someone’s family has always been a “foul ball” as far as I am concerned. Just because a fan buys a ticket, it doesn’t give them the right to say things that should get you “bitch slapped” on the street!
But you ARE crossing a line when you talk about or TO someone’s wife/girlfriend, mother, or children, PERIOD! And to say something about a Black Person’s mama is an “it’s on and poppin’” comment. One of the alltime NBA good guys, Antonio Davis, ran up into the stands during his playing days to protect his wife from some loud mouth who were making comments either to her or in front of their children about him. Not only that, but this LOSER, actually put his HANDS ON ANTONIO’S WIFE! And he was supposed to sit there and let that shit happen???? I was ready to stomp the taste out of a parking lot guy who was trying to rip my mother off so I can just IMAGINE what would have happened if he had put his hands on her!!!
And if reports are correct that Kenyon is “looking for Cuban“, I will give him MY binoculars to help find him! Cuban was 100% WRONG and needs to apologize. First to Lydia Moore, Kenyon’s mom, then to Kenyon, then to the Denver Nuggets team, organization, and fans. Since I saw the “lips tattoo” on Martin’s neck, I felt he was a “BITCH!” Yup, I said it! Because if you know the origins behind the tat, that’s what it means. He can say whatever he wants, but the origins of the tat speaks for itself!!!! But he has EVERY RIGHT to protect his family, ESPECIALLY his mama. And he is earning some respect as far as I am concerned!
