It has recently come out that girlfriend beater, chris brown, is going to claim that he beat the, as my mother used to say, “ Stew Beef” out of Rihanna out of self defense! WTF!!! Talk about a MISERABLE, COWARD PIECE OF SHIT! I’d like to think that his “ handlers” translated as the people celebrities hide behind, are responsible for this idea. Because if brown were to pull that PUNK BITCH ASS move , his career would indeed be DONE! This picture doesn’t lie.

There is NO WAY this was a “ self defense” situation. For him to again, paraphrasing my mother, “ fix his mouth” to even utter those words is a joke. Let me show you how this should play out in court.

 For the second time in less than two weeks, racist cartoons or emails have become public that came either from a national publication, The New York Post, and from elected officials, Dean Grose, mayor of Los Alamitos, california. That these two incidents have happened shouldn’t really be a surprise. Anyone who thought that just because an African American was elected, that CENTURIES of racism was over, is an IDIOT! One has nothing to do with the other. Racism isn’t going ANYWHERE until people talk honestly and openly about racism, And since most people would rather have Root Canal surgery than admit they have uttered racist statements, or harbor racist thoughts, this isn’t going away. Racism in America is the big Pink Elephant in the Room!

Dean Grouse sent out a mass email to business people in his community. In the email, pictured below,  

it shows the Whitehouse with a watermelon patch in the front yard. The caption read, “I guess there won’t be an Easter Egg hunt this year!” How he thought this wasn’t racist is beyond me. That he would send something like this out in a mass email, not knowing who would get it, is even more unbelievable. From his picture,

he looks old enough to have seen or heard African Americans and watermelon spoken in negative connotations. For him to now say that he “didn’t mean to offend anyone” is a complete lie. What he didn’t mean to do was have this come out to the public! There is a HUGE DIFFERENCE!!! This was no accident! It was a racist action from a racist, PERIOD! Those thoughts don’t happen in a vacuum. His inner thoughts and backroom comments finally came out in public. And his poor excuse of an apology doesn’t fly with me either.

I’m going to start by saying this. I’m not into Hip Hop, New School, or Rap. I’m an Old School head and make no apologies. If you asked me who most of the new school artists were, unless they are or were all over the TV, I couldn’t pick them out of a lineup! So hearing that Chris Brown had beaten up Rihanna, other than the fact that it was a domestic violence situation, didn’t mean much to me. What did get my attention was the fact that he initially denied having done anything!

I’m a lesbian. So I know that we women can drive you to: drink, use drugs, knock over the neighbors trash cans on trash day, and steal little kids trick or treat bags on Halloween. But that doesn’t give you or anyone else the right to put their hands on them. I don’t know what happened on the night of February 9th, 2009, because I wasn’t there. And I am all for giving people the benefit of the doubt. But Brown’s own words lead me to believe he did indeed put his hands on her.

On February 16, 2009, a statement by him was made saying that he was “saddened over what had transpired that he was seeking counseling from loved ones, family members … and his pastor.” But this next statement was the one that let me know, without a doubt, that he had indeed put his hands on Rihanna.

His biological father came out and said his son “very remorseful” over what happened. My first thought was “what is he remorseful for?” If he hadn’t put his hands on her, what was he apologizing for? You don’t apologize if you didn’t do anything. That was as much as an admission of guilt to having done something physical to Rihanna. And if reports are correct that Chris witnessed his step-father beating his mother, than he is an even bigger BITCH than this event proved.

If he put his hands on her many times before, as her friends have said, his punk bitch ass needs to be locked up for a while. Some people have said they saw bruises on Rihanna as far back as December of 2008. I’m sure a few of the homies might enjoy letting him know what it feels like to have “hands, and other parts” put on him! And as I said before, I’m not into new school, but Jay-Z certainly moved up in my estimation. He has allegedly said that Brown “is a walking dead man.” Kinda reminds me how it used to be in the Black community where we policed ourselves. I’d never advocate violence, but I hope Jay-Z puts the “cutters” on Chris. (If you don’t know what that means, then the comment wasn’t meant for you. It’s just that simple).

Ok, you are talking all of this shit Tami, what should Chris have done? To be honest with you, if Rihanna was “jaw-jacking” to the point where Chris couldn’t take it anymore, I would have pulled the car over, gotten the hell out, started walking, and left her ass there! Just like your momma use to tell you that she would “put your little ass out of her car,” I wouldn’t have gone that far. I would have put my own ass out of the car. Just that simple!

Somewhat lost among the Wallstreet meltdown is the fact that one man, Bernard Madoff, created and ran one of the biggest Ponzi schemes EVER! His victims are not only everyday people who worked their whole lives to save money for children’s college fund and for their own retirements, but they also include people like movie director Steven Spielberg, Hall of Fame Baseball player, Sandy Koufax, talkshow host Larry King, and actor Kevin Bacon and his wife Kyra Sedgwick. Zsa Zsa Gabor is also included on this “victim’s list” and is said to have lost between 7-10 million dollars! Also included on the list of victims is his wife, his sons, brother and other relatives! Talk about an equal opportunity criminal. Stealing from your own family. His actions have cost hundreds, if not thousands, of people their live savings and at least two fellow billionaires took their lives in response to becoming insolvent. Translation? They killed themselves because they lost all of their money! One would think that a man that ran a 50 BILLION dollar pyramid scheme would be up under the jail. But that is not the case. Mr. Madoff is under “house arrest” in his penthouse apartment in Manhattan, New York! He went from the penthouse to the penthouse!

 

I guess this could almost be called the chicken watching the hen house because Madoff was at one time the chairman if the NASDAQ stock exchange. Wouldn’t you know exactly how to find the loopholes if you were once the person who was supposed to close them?

The most galling part of this whole mess is that this man is not sitting in a jail cell. We jail poor people who steal $20.00 video games for months on end before they even get to court. Yet this man who has caused people to committ suicide, is free. And before anyone says he isn’t really “free”, his penthouse is said to be 2 stories high and is worth 7 million dollars. The average jail cell is 8 feet wide, 8 feet high, and 12 feet long. Compared to other criminals who have allegedly committed crimes, Madoff is free. Make no mistake about it!

The failout from the Madoff affair is far reaching. People who recommended Madoff to their friends and family are now being made to feel unwelcome. The people who promoted Madoff and probably lost money also, are being held accountable for what has occurred. For a scheme to have gone on that long, it had to have been well hidden. While it might be unfair to hold the people who gave “street cred” to Madoff, that comes with the territory when you “have someone’s back!”

I read with bemused interest, a recent newspaper article about a town in upstate california, (lower case on purpose), Belmont to be exact, that has passed a law denying a person’s right to smoke in their own apartment. The article mentioned a woman name Edith Frederickson who was “outraged” and “galled” that this was happening “in America.” Imagine that! Having your RIGHT legislated away. Ms. Frederickson, welcome to the world of being a “them!”

On November 4, 2008, I was told that I was a “them” when 52% of californians decided that they didn’t want me, as a Lesbian, to be able to get married. Being an African American, being a woman, being overweight, I was well aware of my “them” status. But this was different. Because I also found out that the woman that I love more than myself, my mother, considered me a “them” too.

There have always been “thems” in the world. And it is fluid. You can go from being an “us” to being a “them” by losing your job. Or losing all of your money. Or losing or gaining weight. Or living in a better neighborhood. Being a “them” can define who you are or motivate you to do anything, ANYTHING, to become an “us.” And people who would have bet their lives that they were “uses” are usually undone when they find out otherwise.

I don’t smoke and would rather not be around smokers, so this issue doesn’t really affect me. But I wonder what Ms. Frederickson thought about Prop 8? I wonder if and how she voted on it? And I am not saying for a fact that she did vote yes on Prop 8. But no one should be surprised that rights and freedoms are being legislated away by a majority at the expense of the minority. Because when sides are taken against someone’s right to be happy, you shouldn’t be surprised when someone takes a side against you!

The American workforce lost almost 600,000 jobs in January 2009 alone. Reports have said this is the biggest job loss since 1974. Yet the people responsible for this fiasco are continuing to collect fat paychecks and BONUSES into the BILLIONS of dollars. The worse part is that many of these “titans of industry” were able to get those BILLIONS from the taxpayer bailout. And to add insult to injury, some of the companies who received bailout money, Bank of America to name one, spent millions of dollars hosting Super Bowl parties. And Wells Fargo had planned a huge “company party” to Las Vegas only cancelling it when news of the event went public. These clowns just don’t get it! Brother, can you spare a Billion?

After hearing reports that many of the executives who received taxpayer dollars were given billions in salary and bonuses, President Obama stated that there will be a cap on the amount of money executives can make. And unbelievably, the uproar has been harsh and swift. WTF!!

You can bet the people making the most noise didn’t vote for President Obama. Because only a fool, an idiot, or a REPUBLICAN, would have a problem with putting a cap on the salaries executives who receive taxpayer dollars should make. Is President Obama putting a cap on the salaries of all executives???? NO! He is putting a cap on those industries that get taxpayer dollars. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE! If you are asking for a governmental handout, you OBVIOUSLY DON’T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING! Only a fool and a sucker doesn’t see, or want to see, the difference. Taking money from taxpayers isn’t capitalism. You are not a capitalist if you get money from the government. And you shouldn’t get billions of dollars in salary from the taxpayers either. SEE HOW THAT WORKS!!!!!!

When I heard that Charles Barkley was arrested for a DUI, I shook my head in amazement that someone with so much to lose would put it at risk. Then when I heard his excuse of wanting to get Oral Sex, I figured anyone that stupid needed to lose things. How dumb can you be? As I said in an earlier post when it happened, that in time this would pass and all would be forgiven. But that was before T-Mobil dropped him so fast that Seismologists reported a earth tremor when Charles fell. So I figured that’s what happens when you fall off the pedestal. What I didn’t figure was that the color of your skin might have something to do with it also!

Olympian Michael Phelps won 8 Gold medals at the 2008 Olympics and has done a Victory Lap around the world ever since. He has gotten awards, prime seats at sporting events, and rubbed shoulders with the “beautiful people.” Yet this past week, a picture of him smoking Marijuana out of a bong has surfaced. He has admitted that the picture is indeed real. So his sponsors should be running for the hills right now right? No, that’s not the case. Thus far his sponsors are “standing by him.” HUH??? Isn’t possession of Marijuana and drug paraphenalia a CRIME? Hasn’t he admitted that he did it? Or does he have the Marijuana Card which allows him to smoke? This isn’t his first issue with the law. In 2004, he was arrested for Drunk Driving. But because he was just Mike Phelps and not Michael Phelps, it was a blip on the “celebrity screw up” map.

 

So what is the difference? Why was one guy dropped like an expired EBT Card, and the other embraced like nothing happened? Is it because one guy was arrested and the other wasn’t? You be the judge. Either way …. IT MUST BE NICE!!!!!!!!!!
